I am a day late on this one…August 25th, 2001, R&B Princess Aaliyah left this earth way too soon.   If she was alive today she would be as relevant as she was then, she was a true star!  In memory of Aaliyah, rest in peace Princess.

Flooding opens up sinkholes in Guatemala City

Rescuers dig after Central America storm kills ...

Flooding and landslides from tropical storm Agatha have killed more than 150 people throughout Central America in the past few days, and apparently caused a giant Guatemala City sinkhole.A sinkhole caused by tropical storm Agatha in Guatemala City on Sunday. Torrential rains brought by the first tropical storm of the 2010 season pounded Central America and southern Mexico, triggering deadly landslides.

Lets be sure to pray for the families Guatemala City.

RIP Gary Coleman!

(CNN) — Actor Gary Coleman, who had suffered from a brain hemorrhage from an accident in his home Wednesday, died Friday in a Utah hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Family members and close friends were at his side when life support was terminated at 12:05 p.m.  Janet Frank said.

A Tribute to the Great LENA HORNE

I heard that Lena Horne died and I had no clue who she was.  I asked my Mom and she told me “google her”, so I did.  What  I found out is that she was a legendary, pioneer that paved the way for my women of color in the entertainment industry.  She had an amazing life with many accomplishments as a singer, actress and activist.  In honor of the Great Lena Horne, RIP.

Katharine Hepburn Honored On A Stamp!

 Katharine Hepburn, star of such classic movies as “African Queen” and “Little Women,” took her place on a U.S. postage stamp Wednesday.

The 44-cent stamp was dedicated in ceremonies in Old Saybrook, Conn., and is on sale nationwide.

The red-haired actress becomes the 16th star to be honored on the U.S. Postal Service’s Legends of Hollywood stamp series.
